Early Years
Dr. Rami Saydjari was born in Barron, Wisconsin, in 1960. His father was a general surgeon and immigrated to the United States after completing medical school in Geneva, Switzerland. His mother was a certified nurse anesthetist. As a young boy, the family moved to Oklahoma for about eight years and then to upstate New York, where he finished high school.
University, Medical School, & Surgical Residency
Dr. Saydjari completed his undergraduate degree in biochemistry at the prestigious Rice University in Houston, Texas where he met and married his wife, Christy. After graduation from Rice, Rami and Christy moved to Galveston, Texas, where he attended medical school at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) and obtained a medical degree. It was during this time in Galveston that they had two wonderful children Alex and Allia. While completing medical school, Rami developed a keen interest in biomedical research involving cancer suppression. He continued that interest in his general surgery residency at UTMB, which he completed in 1992.
Private Practice
Dr. Saydjari set up a successful private general surgical practice in Crawfordsville, Indiana. He and his family remained there for over 20 years. During his surgical practice, he developed an interest in health care administration serving on numerous boards and committees at local, regional, and national levels.
MBA
Dr. Saydjari then completed his MBA, at the prestigious University of Tennessee at Knoxville Physician Executive MBA program (PEMBA) in 2011. He was then appointed President of the Franciscan Physician Network for Western Indiana, where he helped build and manage a large physician network. He worked hard to ensure quality and transform healthcare delivery to a patient-centered model.
Medical Relief Work
Dr. Saydjari has traveled to Haiti multiple times on medical relief missions both before and after the large earthquake of 2010.
Retirement from Clinical Practice
After retiring in 2013, Dr. Saydjari moved back to Texas with his family, where he enjoys a quiet and peaceful life, writing, and spending time with his family.
